Late afternoon on a summer's day. The wash is done; a bright quilt is airing out on the clothesline. Three goats browse through the butterfly-filled landscape. Big white clouds billow above the deep purple and blue mountains and the little polka dot trees cast long afternoon shadows on the nearby hills. The old adobe house boasts a tin roof and the hand carved front door is flanked by two red chile ristras and a lucky horseshoe welcomes all who enter. One of my fantasies of New Mexico.
